Bariatric Surgery Consultation
At first I was very scared because it was my first surgery. Price was good, care was good. Lots of research before surgery. Very clean hospital (I think the only thing that could be improved are beds for the accompanying person). Very helpful coordinator, always advises and helps when there are doubts. She never hesitated to answer and was always loved. I rate it 5 stars.

FQ About Gastric Balloon Clinic in Antalya / Turkey

The choice between gastric sleeve surgery and gastric bypass depends on individual factors. The sleeve is less invasive and focuses solely on restricting stomach size, while the bypass alters both stomach size and digestive processes. Bypass surgery often results in more weight loss but comes with higher risks of malabsorption and complications.
Always consume lean protein first, non-starchy vegetables second, and high-fiber carbs or a healthy fat source last. Try to consume at least 64 ounces of hydrating fluids. Avoid added-sugar drinks, carbonation, and excessive caffeine. Consume alcohol in moderation. Bread, Rice, and Pasta - Because of the starchy nature of bread, rice, and pasta, after your surgery, they can form a paste in your throat that is hard to swallow without liquid. Bikini sleeve is a colloquial term referring to a gastric sleeve surgery performed through small, hidden incisions around the bikini line to minimize visible scarring. This technique is designed for patients who are concerned about the cosmetic appearance of their body post-surgery while achieving the same weight loss benefits as traditional Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG).
A total gastrectomy is a surgical procedure where the entire stomach is removed, usually due to stomach cancer or severe damage. The esophagus is then directly connected to the small intestine. This life-altering surgery requires patients to follow strict dietary guidelines, including smaller, more frequent meals, and take supplements to ensure proper nutrition.
When comparing lap band and gastric bypass, the key difference lies in their mechanisms. The lap band restricts food intake by placing an adjustable band around the stomach, while gastric bypass both restricts food intake and alters digestion by rerouting part of the intestines. Gastric bypass typically leads to more rapid and significant weight loss but carries a higher risk of complications.
A gastro appointment is a consultation with a gastroenterologist. During this visit, the doctor assesses symptoms like stomach pain, acid reflux, or changes in bowel habits. The appointment might involve a physical exam, blood tests, or diagnostic procedures like an endoscopy or colonoscopy to identify the issue.
RNY reversal is the process of undoing the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Although rare, reversals are sometimes necessary due to complications such as malnutrition, severe dumping syndrome, or other medical issues.
Well, Turkey has a robust healthcare system, with the Turkish Ministry of Health regulating medical facilities and practitioners to ensure high standards of care. Turkey's safety record for bariatric surgery is excellent, with low rates of complications and a high success rate.
Similar to the gastric balloon, the stomach balloon is used for weight loss by physically limiting the stomach's capacity. It is available in the UK both privately and through the NHS in some cases. The balloon is typically left in place for six months, after which it is removed. During this time, patients follow a strict diet to maximize weight loss.
Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass (RYGB) is a popular form of bariatric surgery that reduces the size of the stomach and reroutes the digestive system. This results in both restriction of food intake and malabsorption, leading to significant weight loss. The surgery is considered highly effective for morbidly obese individuals and also helps improve obesity-related health issues like diabetes, hypertension, and sleep apnea. However, it requires lifelong dietary changes and nutritional supplements to avoid deficiencies.
