What a fantastic experience.

Upon landing in Antalya we were met by a private transfer driver who drove us in comfort to the hospital (real hospital, not a small clinic). There I met Irem who welcomed myself and husband warmly and spoke excellent English. She answered all questions and was able to calm my nerves entirely. Irem was incredibly knowledgable - with her own nursing experience - so we knew I was in good hands.

In 2 hours of arriving at the (very clean) hospital, I had received a multitude of physical health tests using high-tech equipment - these tests would have taken place over months in the UK so I was impressed!

The facilities were clean, tidy and the staff extremely friendly. Our private en-suite rooms were cleaned regularly, with fresh towels and blankets every day, if not more often. My husband who travelled with me was offered 3 meals per day from the hospital.

I met the surgeon - who performs bariatric surgery solely - who was very friendly and encouraged questions. He explained, with the help of Irem, what was going to happen and how long I would be in surgery etc.

On the day I was taken to surgery, everything went perfectly well. I was monitored by the loveliest nurses very regularly to ensure my post-op condition was good. Nothing was too much trouble, they are so efficient and all procedures were done absolutely as you would see in the UK (just quicker).

I had a 1-2-1 conversation with a dietician who explained my wasting journey post-surgery I’m great detail. I was given a giant bag of vitamins, protein powders, literature regarding my surgery - what to expect etc and a comprehensive copy of my medical notes.

I was taken by private transfer to the hotel, which was lovely in a fabulous location. Myself and husband were very comfortable throughout.

I would recommend this company wholeheartedly. I think there is always the worry about “going abroad” for surgery, but I was so impressed by the efficiency, cleanliness, friendliness and knowledge of the team throughout.

I believe you get more than what you pay for and I am very excited to start my new weight loss journey post-surgery.

I am now home with no residual pain, just getting used to my new diet and tiny tummy.

Thanks all! Really appreciate you x

FQ About Gastric Balloon Clinic in Antalya / Turkey

A gastric band fill is a procedure where saline is added to the adjustable band around the stomach to tighten it, reducing the stomach's capacity and limiting food intake. The fill is performed through a port placed under the skin and can be adjusted based on the patient’s progress and needs. Fills are crucial for regulating how much food can pass through the stomach, ensuring consistent weight loss.
Turkey has become a leading destination for gastric balloon procedures due to its combination of high-quality medical care and affordable pricing. Patients from across the world share generally positive reviews of their experiences with gastric balloon treatments in Turkish clinics. Many patients commend the professionalism of the staff, the expertise of the surgeons, and the comprehensive care packages offered by Turkish medical facilities. Even with extreme diet, exercise, or surgery, a patient can never fully get rid of these unwanted flaps of skin. This can cause self-esteem and confidence issues among patients. In such cases, plastic surgery is the only way to achieve a fully sculpted and smoother body.  Body lift is one such cosmetic procedure that helps patients to get into their desired body shape. Lap band surgery is the least invasive procedure for weight loss surgery, yielding the fastest recovery time.
In the UK, reviews of the gastric balloon procedure tend to reflect a mix of positive and negative experiences. Patients who followed strict dietary guidelines typically reported good results, while others struggled with side effects like nausea and discomfort. The cost of the procedure in the UK is higher than in Turkey, leading many patients to seek treatment abroad.
Seven British patients who travelled to Turkey for weight loss surgery died after operations there, a BBC investigation into the trend has found. Others have returned home with serious health issues after having had gastric sleeve operations, during which more than 70% of the stomach is removed.
Common gastrology symptoms include stomach pain, bloating, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, and changes in bowel habits. These symptoms may indicate a range of conditions from gastritis to more serious issues like ulcers or gastrointestinal cancers.
those complexities in mind, a common definition of failure is loss of less than half of a person’s excess weight (%EWL is excess weight carried above a Body Mass Index of 25kg/m2).  Most of my patients express disappointment if they’ve only had 50% excess weight loss, but the reality is that even surgery has limited power to assist a person to manage their weight.Additionally, all surgeries are most effective in the first five years, and less effective after that.  And obtaining reliable data... +More
After Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), patients must follow a strict diet to ensure the stomach heals properly and to promote weight loss. The post-op diet begins with liquids and progresses to soft foods, and eventually solids. It emphasizes protein intake, hydration, and portion control to avoid complications like vomiting or nutrient deficiencies.
One of the main reasons Antalya has become a popular destination for gastric sleeve surgery is the cost. The price of a gastric sleeve in Antalya is significantly lower than in countries like the United States, the UK, or Australia. The average cost in Antalya ranges between $3,000 to $6,000, depending on the clinic and the package offered. This price often includes accommodation, transportation, and post-operative care, making it a cost-effective option for many international patients.
The gastric sleeve operation may be a reasonable option for patients with lower starting body mass index (BMI 30-34.9, generally 50-75 pounds over ideal weight) who have been unable to lose weight and maintain weight loss using nonoperative methods.
